
OUR HISTORY
Itoh Trading was originally founded in 1964 in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture. Even today, in this landlocked region, we continue to operate our trading business. Our core business has always been "exporting Japanese food products overseas." Since our founding, we have focused on "service innovation" and "offering added value to our customers and manufacturers." By doing so, we have built strong, trust-based relationships with our business partners, customers, and domestic manufacturers.
Our founder, Takao Ito, was born in a small village in Gifu Prefecture. At the age of 21, he began working at a trading company. 14 years later, his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for business led to the establishment of Ito Shouji (now Itou Trading) in 1964.
Itou Trading's business began with exporting Japanese seafood and dried fish to Singapore and Taiwan. Over the past 50 years, our company has evolved from handling seafood to dealing in ceramics, food ingredients, and processed foods. We have exported products to countries across the world, including the Middle East (Qatar, Bahrain, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait), Europe (Germany, the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands), Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan), North America (the US, Canada), and Australia. Today, we continue to deliver a variety of products, primarily to North America, Hong Kong, and Australia.
